Being diagnosed with cancer can be tough on your finances. You might not be able to earn in the same way. You’ll probably spend more on everyday costs like heating and getting around. And it’s hard knowing how to plan ahead. Too often, money worries just get out of control.
But we’re here to help. We can give you the support and guidance you need. We can help you deal with money worries, and get back to the things that matter most in your life.
The Macmillan Benefits Advice Service for Birmingham and Solihull offers a free, confidential and impartial benefits advice service to people with cancer, their carers and relatives. We have Macmillan welfare rights advisers based at QEH, Good Hope, Heartlands, City and the Royal Orthopaedic hospitals. We are also able to offer appointments at a number of locations across Solihull.
Macmillan Cancer Support and Citizens Advice Birmingham have worked together to bring you this service.
We can help you with things like applying for benefits if you can’t work, applying for charitable grants, and getting financial support from your local authority.
